Keychains

Final Fantasy keychains are my favorite collectables; they are small and cute, colorful and detailed, and there are quite a few different ones.

The collectable value of keychains is based on the overall condition of the keychain and whether or not the original tag is attached and/or the insert labels and containers included.

The Volume 1 Figure Keychains were made by Banpresto and released in Japan in 1996 as promotional items.  The tags in this series are white. The keychains in this set are: Cloud, Cloud & Chocobo, Chocobo, Aerith, Barret, Red XIII and Bahamut.

The Volume 2 Figure Keychains were made by Banpresto and released in Japan in 1997 as UFO Catcher crane machine prizes. The tags in this series are black and larger than in Vol. 1. Note that there are also fake versions of these keychains. For more information view the “Fakes” section. The keychains in this set are: Tifa, Sephiroth, Yuffie, Vincent, Cid, Cloud & Daytona and Cait Sith.

The FF VII Figure Gacha-Oh Keychains were made by Banpresto in 1997. These keychains are smaller than the figure keychains and do not come with attached tags, instead they have dome-shaped capsules and a leaflet insert. The keychains of this series were only obtainable from the Gashapon toy dispensers in Japan for a limited time. The set consists of chibi Cloud, Vincent, Tifa, Aerith and Yuffie keychains.

The FF VII Swing Figure Keychains were made by Bandai in 1997. These keychains are smaller than the figure keychains and do not come with attached tags, instead they have ball-shaped capsules and 2 leaflet inserts. The keychains of this series were only obtainable from the Gashapon toy dispensers in Japan for a limited time. The set consists of chibi Cloud, Red XIII, Barret, Chocobo, Aerith and Cloud & Chocobo keychains.

There are also at five other FFVII chibi Figure Keychains by Bandai, but I do not have any information on them. The five keychains are Cid, Cait Sith, Vincent 2, Tifa 2 and Yuffie 2.
