Q: Why did you make this webiste?
A: Because I have never seen a site with a comprehensive listing of all FFVII collectibles, and I thought it was about time someone made one. Maybe my site will inspire other fans to take up collecting, or just be of interest to FFVII fans.

Q: Why would anyone want to collect FFVII merchandise?
A: For the same reason anyone would want to collect anything. It is a hobby. Collecting FFVII related items is of course fun for FFVII fans only, but it has many good characteristics. The FFVII collectibles are versatile in type, size and price, so there is a lot of different things to collect. Also, as many of the collectibles were originally promotional items or only available for a short time years ago, a big part of the fun in FFVII collecting is hunting for the rare collectibles.

Q:  But does hoarding FFVII related items really help contributing to the FFVII fan community?
A: Well, I sort of think it does. For example, some of the collectables like the Square FFVII Collectors video includes interviews of the people behind the game. Almost every FFVII fan sometimes wishes he/she only knew what the great minds of Square were thinking when they planned and greated FFVII, and this video material might be able to offer at least a small glimpse of their thoughts. Of course things like official FFVII books might also offer a fan some new FFVII related information.
Someone might also argue that by looking at all the official merchandise, one might be able to tell what the Square people felt was most important about the game. For example there are naturally a lot of Aerith and Sephiroth related merchandise, but not really any Jenova or Materia related merchadise - therefore Jenova or the materias might not be crucial for understanding the true nature of the game. I personally think this theory is very farfetched, but then again, so are many other FFVII theories.

Q: Why is this site only about FFVII merchadise instead of all FF merchandise?
A: Basically because I don't have the reasources needed to catalog all the existing FF merchandise, and FFVII is my favourite FF game. I would be very happy to see someone else take on the job of listing the merchadise of another game of the series.

Q: Why are FFVII related items so damn expensive?
A: Mostly because they were only sold years ago, and because FFVII is still such a popular game. A lot of people would like to collect FFVII merchandise, so there is more demand than supply which makes the prices go up. Now that Square-Enix is releasing a lot of new FFVII related games, the prices of the original FFVII merchadise are likely to go up. On the other hand, some of the FFVII merchadise are being rereleased, making them more available again and pushing down the prices.

A: I have intentionally left out the approximate prices from the descriptions, as there are no official prices for most of the FFVII collectibles. There are only "typical prices", but most of the time the prices vary a lot. If you want to ask me about a specific item feel free to email me.

A: Not all, but most.
